Top 10 Indicators You’ve “Made It” (developmentally, not materially)

From a Constructed Development Theory (CDT) and Dynamic Intelligence (DI) perspective, I have built a very different top ten list. Rather than tallying possessions, I am looking for indicators that someone is deliberately constructing their sense of self, has widened their perspective-taking capacity, and is able to navigate life consciously rather than being pulled along by social scripts. Here’s what a CDT/DI Top Ten Achievements List looks like — a developmental upgrade!

This list replaces status markers with awareness markers — it’s not about whether you have a home gym or a wine cooler, but whether you can notice your own thinking, expand your perspective, and construct your life intentionally.

  1. Recognise Your Own Construction

Know that identity, beliefs, and narratives are constructed—and can be reconstructed.

  2. Live Deliberately, Not Automatically

Pause between Intention and Response; choose consciously rather than run on habit.

  3. Embrace Contextual Fluidity

Adjust your Thinking Style to fit the context without losing authenticity.

  4. Use Disequilibrium as Growth

Welcome discomfort and contradiction as fuel for vertical development.

  5. Operate with Dynamic Intelligence

Construct thinking in the moment to create the most skilful response, with awareness of consequences.

  6. Move Beyond Meaning as Fixed

See meaning as a choice you make—not a property of things—without collapsing into nihilism.

  7. See Systems, Not Just Events

Perceive interconnections and act with second- and third-order effects in mind.

  8. Self-Author Your Own Metrics of Success

Define success internally rather than borrowing society’s status markers.

  9. Enable Growth in Others

Invest in others’ Awareness Quotient and Thinking Style complexity as a shared endeavour.

  10. Choose Responsibly, Repeatedly

Demonstrate your development through consistent, values-aligned choices over time.
