New Dianetics: Session Framework by AQ Level

Constructed Development Therapy through the CAIR model

Each session is uniquely adapted to your Awareness Quotient (AQ), using a structured but flexible 4-step framework: Intention, Awareness, Choice, Response.

CAIR Session Structure

  • Intention: What’s being constructed in the moment?
  • Awareness: How aware are you of that construction?
  • Choice: What else could be constructed?
  • Response: What would you now like to do?

Session Templates by AQ Level

AQ4: Literal / Concrete Thinker

Goal: Notice repeated patterns and begin low-risk reframing.

  • “What were you trying to achieve when you acted that way?”
  • “Has this happened before?”
  • “If you paused for 5 seconds, what else could you have done?”
  • “Which option will you try next time?”

CI focus: Reduce dominance of “Own”, “Control”, and “Influence”.

AQ5: Self-Improvement Seeker

Goal: Introduce metacognitive reflection and self-observation.

  • “What were you aiming for?”
  • “Is that thinking a habit or a choice?”
  • “What other responses could align with who you want to become?”
  • “What does that choice say about your current construction?”

CI focus: Surface polarity between Internal and External CIs.

AQ6: Construct-Aware / Systems Thinker

Goal: Support exploration of systemic patterns and CI choice.

  • “Which CI were you using in that moment?”
  • “What broader pattern were you part of?”
  • “How would switching to 'Observer' change this?”
  • “What emotion comes with that reconstruction?”

CI focus: Promote flexibility and identity fluidity through naming.

AQ7: Complex / Paradox-Aware

Goal: Hold opposing truths and foster layered responses.

  • “What were you co-constructing with the other person?”
  • “What paradox were you trying to resolve?”
  • “What contradictory response still feels true?”
  • “What happens when you sit with both/and thinking?”

CI focus: Encourage play with “Options”, “Team Player”, and nuance.

AQ8: Strategic / Identity as Tool

Goal: Strategically deconstruct and reconstruct for purpose.

  • “Which CI were you consciously deploying and why?”
  • “Which part of you forgot it was a construction?”
  • “What new self are you constructing—and for whom?”
  • “What are the consequences of this new design?”

CI focus: Use polarity awareness for precision, not control.

AQ9: Construct-Agnostic / Meaning as Play

Goal: Explore the futility, play, and creativity of construction itself.

  • “What arbitrary construction were you playing with?”
  • “Where did Awareness drop into recursive reflection?”
  • “What construction did you hold lightly—and which one clung?”
  • “What will you not do next time because it was meaningless?”

CI focus: Let go of meaning as necessity. Construct because you can.

Bring This to Life

This framework forms the basis of our upcoming workshop series for therapists, coaches, and advanced developmental facilitators. Each session is supported by practical tools for CI analysis, AQ diagnostics, and deliberate identity construction.
